Thank you for your interest in The Matan Institute, which will be held at the Matan offices in New York City. Submitting this application demonstrates your commitment to addressing the needs of diverse learners in your school and synagogue community - a commitment that is to be commended!
 
Applications are due May 12, 2017. Upon acceptance into The Matan Institute, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire that will give us a better understanding of the landscape of your school/synagogue/youth group with regard to inclusion. The cost to participate in the Matan Institute is as follows: $1,800 for one Director; $1,200 for a 2nd Director from the same synagogue/organization. By submitting this application, you agree to:

  • Attend 6 days of in-person training: June 12-13, 2017, November 13-14, 2017 AND April 23-24, 2018.
  • Construct at least an hour long professional development session on special needs upon completion of the Institute each year, to be implemented at your congregational school/institution upon your return. 
  • Engage in 3 webinars with Matan professional staff and the other Education Directors/Youth Directors in this cohort.
  • Work with a Matan mentor who will be available to you for a total of 9 hours between June 2017 and April 2018, providing consultation on a specific inclusion goal, to be determined in partnership with your mentor during the first 2 days of the Institute.
