Our schedule for Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM) 2018 is full of exciting ways to learn and get involved.
Over the course of Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month, Matan will be giving away some of our favorite inclusion resources! You can enter by doing a few simple things… like signing up for one of our events, or sharing information about the contest on social media.
Save the dates for these live events we’ve organized for JDAIM.
February 15: Teen Curriculum Ask Me Anything
During our first ever Facebook Live event, hosts Meredith Englander Polsky and Rabbi Ruti Regan will discuss Matan’s new Teen Curriculum and answer questions ranging from implementation best practices to common program mistakes.
February 21: I Have a Question Author Interview
Join Matan’s Director of Institutes and Training, Meredith Englander Polsky for a discussion on her new books, I Have a Question About Death and I Have a Question About Divorce, and an overview of her creative process. Tune in to learn about strategies that parents and educators can implement to address any transition or challenge in children’s lives. We’ll also be giving away a signed set of Meredith’s books to one lucky attendee.
February 22: What’s So Funny About Disability?
On Purim, we flip the script and laugh at the scary and the sacred. Everything is up for joking — including disability and inclusion. Matan’s Rabbinic Disability Scholar in Residence, Rabbi Ruti Regan, will address appropriate Purim disability humor during this webinar. What’s absurd in our work towards inclusion? How do we keep our jokes respectful?
Matan’s webinar and Facebook trainings are offered free of cost to all participants. Consider making a donation to Matan as part of your JDAIM celebrations.
